Dr Surendra Madhukar Ugale is a distinguished Senior Consultant with over three decades of experience, specialising in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. He holds a Master's degree from Bombay University and has acquired multiple certifications throughout his illustrious career. Dr Surendra Madhukar Ugale has played key roles at esteemed institutions, including Kirloskar Hospital and Asian Bariatrics.
Renowned for his proficiency in Laparoscopic GI and Bariatric Surgery, Dr Surendra Madhukar Ugale has a special focus on Metabolic Disorders. His team, Ugale Bariatrics, achieved the distinction of being the 2nd in the world to initiate Laparoscopic Ileal Interposition for Type-2 Diabetes in 2008. Additionally, they introduced a groundbreaking scoring system, the Diabetes Severity & Remission Score, in 2013.
